Abstract :
A polarization independent monolithically integrated gain-clamped SOA for 1.55 /spl mu/m in a DBR configuration, with double-core spot-size converter and tensile bulk material is reported. Gain saturation remains below 0.5 dB up to +12 dBm output power.
