Abstract :
An analytic estimation on the performance of a proposed decentralized multiple access technique for radio resource management of self-organized base stations (BSs) is presented. the proposed distributed dynamic channel reservation (DDCR) method applies to multicarrier wireless ATM LANs, where base stations act as hubs to offer wireless ATM access to mobile terminals (MTs). The method is suitable for unlicensed wireless nodes, and especially in scenaria when BSs with different providers are installed in a common coverage area. The paper evaluates etiquette rules, contention disciplines, medium access control (MAC) mechanisms and carrier selection rules through simulations
