Abstract :
For the first time it was experimentally demonstrated the interaction of core modes in 4-core fiber with large distance between the cores (28 mum). It was established that the effect of interaction is very sensitive to the fiber curving. The effect explanation based on indirect interaction of the cores inside the fiber through the central shell mode is given. The 70% energy transfer from one core to another was obtained for 40 cm long fiber.
