Malaysian in-service teachers: an assessment of their IT preparedness

This paper aims to describe Malaysian in-service teachers´ IT preparedness. IT preparedness is measured in terms of their actual IT skills, and knowledge as well as their attitudes toward IT. The study revealed that the teachers are IT skilled. However, they are only proficient in several types of productivity tools. The results also showed that two extreme groups existed, those who are highly proficient in certain productivity tools and those who are not. The teachers, however, are knowledgeable about IT and have very positive attitudes toward IT.
