Abstract :
Gain stabilized isolator-free Er-doped fibre amplifiers (EDFAs) realize gain cross-saturation free bi-directional transmission. Bidirectional transmission of different wavelength 622 Mbit/s and 2.4 Gbit/s signals over 400 km with 4 repeaters is stable with no error rate degradation.
