    On the basis of the principle of causing heat island effect and the application of GIS on heat island effect analysis, integrating characters of urban heat island effect, from the point of integration of urban GIS system and heat island effect, adopting C#+ArcEngine components to carry out secondary development, the article designs a GIS based heat island effect analysis system. The system integrates the functions of GIS spatial information analysis and the analytic models of heat island effect, realizing more vivid and clear heat island effect analysis. The operation of the system provides scientific and reliable basis for easing serious urban heat island effect and improving urban biological environment quality.
