Abstract :
We propose a new algorithm for wavelength allocation within the EDFA bandwidth which leads to improved performances of large-scale, optically amplified, wavelength-routed optical networks (WRONs). Combining a realistic EDFA model, four wave mixing (FWM) nonlinearities and wavelength add-drop, the analysis is applied to the European Optical Network (EON).
