Abstract :
This study, performed in an in vitro flow model under pulsatile flow, compares 4 segmentation algorithms. These algorithms are applied to 3D power Doppler flow angiograms for quantifying the cross-sectional area of the lumen of a simulated artery with a stenosis of 80% area reduction. Results show that all four algorithms overestimate the cross-sectional area of the arterial lumen, but two of them provide accurate estimates of the percentage of area reduction within the stenosis
