Abstract
Since its introduction in 1984, the 698HC11 family of microcontrollers has reached over 1/2 billion units sold. To provide this growing market with a source code compatible upgrade, Motorola has recently released its next generation, called the 68HC12 family. In this paper I\´ll describe some of the features of the 68HC12, such as increased performance, code size reduction, background debug support, expanded memory, high-level language support, fuzzy logic, and 68HC11 "look and feel"
