Abstract :
The calibration of a camera-projector system has recently become a popular topic in computer vision. It is also a key procedure in structured-light-based 3-d profiling technique. Typically a camera is calibrated using point correspondences between image pixels and world coordinates. When it comes to projector calibration, a difficulty arises in establishing accurate point correspondences for the projector. This paper proposes a flexible, practical and economical approach to exploit both intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of the projector using a planar checkerboard commonly used to calibrate an image sensor. Experimental results show that the proposed method has an improvement of more than 80% over traditional method.
