Abstract :
Applications for programmable logic controllers and personal computers within the chloralkali industry continue to grow. Older multiplexed monitoring systems are being replaced with high-speed systems that can scan an entire cell room within two seconds. Average cell voltages can be decreased by 0.25 V DC or more resulting in significant power savings or production increases. The newer industrial power systems can be installed as an upgrade to existing systems to minimize the impact on chemical plant operations
