Abstract :
Polycrystal modeled as close-packed uniaxial grains (crystallites) of various orientaions can be described using the spectral representation. It is formally similar to the isotropic 2-component composite, but with different meaning of structural characteristics. In particular, the volume fraction used in composites is replaced with the spacial mean value of crystallite orientations. It is illustrated on the simple example, that the structural quantities depends on the true volume fractions and also on the orientations of grains.
