Abstract :
There has been considerable number of virtual and augmented reality applications designed and developed for mobile devices. However the state-of-the-art systems are commonly confined by several limitations. In this position paper the concept rdquocloud-mobile convergence for virtual reality (CMCVR)rdquo is presented. CMCVR envisions effective and user-friendly integration of the mobile device and cloud-based resources. Through the proposed framework, mobile devices could be augmented to deliver some user experiences comparable to those offered by fixed systems. A preliminary research that follows the CMCVR paradigm is also described.
