Abstract :
Technology evolution has changed users´ mindset and preferences in selecting the multimedia player. Recently computers, specifically laptops are among the most favourable choice as the multimedia player leaving behind a real AV System. This is because of the cheap price of a computer and the additional features which are available in a computer. One of the features includes the capability to open multiple formats (codec) of audio and video files. The drawback of using a computer is that computers do not come with a remote control unlike the AV System. Therefore, to overcome this problem, a wireless remote control is designed and built in order to control the multimedia application in Windows operating system. The remote control works as a simple wireless keyboard with the multimedia navigational buttons.
