Abstract
This paper reports on a specific experiment in the mechatronic program which is set up to provide hands-on experience in the use of the Internet to implement remote monitoring and fault diagnosis for machines from a long distance, using only low cost and easily available components. Both hardware and software configurations are highlighted.
