  • Abstract
    A broadband high resolution algorithm is proposed to estimate direction of arrival (DOA) of the source based on two stages beamforming and the sub array partition approach. The two stages beamforming scheme includes the sub array broadband beamforming stage and the minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) beamforming stage in sub array level. Consequently, the proposed algorithm can be applied to broadband source detection and holds the high resolution ability meanwhile. What is more important is that it can be calculated very fast, thus it is suitable for realtime applications. Simulation results show the proposed algorithm works effectively.
