Title :
Military lasertag production test system
Author_Institution :
Symtx, Austin, TX, USA
Abstract :
High volume production test of laser tag assemblies used for military personnel training presents significant technical challenges in test. The same test station is required to measure and adjust optical sensitivity, test wireless RF link performance, and verify user display operation. A similar station is required to simultaneously provide shock profiles to 200 G´s and align UUT optics to better than 0.05 degrees. These challenges are discussed, along with their solution. An overview is provided of a test system designed to test these assemblies along with a discussion of some of the tradeoffs made during its development.
