Abstract
This paper presents the design and implementation of a simple AC chopper with one driving signal for induction motor system. The new driving circuit of the proposed AC chopper is designed and implemented by Lenz´s law with one PWM signal and two transformers. Thus, the current of the motor is operated in continuous mode. The switching spike, switching loss and cost of the proposed AC chopper are better than the conventional PWM AC chopper. Finally, the measured results show the flexibility and accuracy of the proposed method with a 70W induction motor.
