Abstract :
This article provides an update on how manufacturing execution system (MES) technology can improve manufacturing efficiency, both at the front-end, wafer processing portion and the back-end, test assembly and packaging portion. This also discusses what manufacturers should consider when reviewing MES applications and the integration issues around implementing MES solutions. TAP manufacturers today are under pressure to produce increasingly sophisticated products and meet more demanding customer expectations than ever before. To remain competitive, TAP manufacturers need cost-effective, off-the-shelf MES solutions that meet their industry-specific needs. MES vendors now offer products that use advances technology to meet the complex tracking needs of TAP manufacturers.
