Abstract
A computational model was improved to explore the compressive nonlinearity of auditory-nerve (AN) fibers. The model can produce physiologically realistic compression as well as a wide range of other nonlinear behavior. It is also designed to simulate the responses of a population of AN fibers tuned to different frequencies
