Abstract :
Dual mechanical ports machine (DMPM) is used in hybrid electric vehicle to perform the same functions as Toyota Hybrid System. A DMPM is a new structure machine with two rotors those can run in different speed. In this paper, both the equivalent magnetic circuit and FEA method are employed to analyze the electromagnetic coupling of DMPM. The analysis results indicate that the electromagnetic coupling has effect on electromagnetic torque of outer motor and inner motor. Equivalent magnetic circuit method points that operation mode of the two motors in DMPM and the outer rotor yoke height are the main factors that influence the electromagnetic coupling, which is verified by FEA method.
