Abstract :
Residential network is the interconnection and communication of various audio/visual networks, home automation and control networks, computer networks and wireless networks at home. These several networks are connected to the residential gateway and connected to the Internet with the high-speed Internet connection. So real-time multimedia voice and video traffic flow is converged at the gateway. Due to the integrated nature of home network it has been realized that it is necessary to integrate different QoS mechanisms to improve the quality of service to residential users. Hence in this paper we propose to implement wireless QoS and IP QoS to improve the service quality of real-time multimedia traffic by combining hybrid co-ordination function (HCF) with two scheduling algorithms, low latency queuing (LLQ) and custom queuing (CQ) for real-time traffic in home network.
