            Abstract : 
In this paper, the tapered waveguide structure for quantum-dot semiconductor optical amplifiers (QD-SOA´s) is introduced and formulated for the first time. It´s observed that by employing the tapered waveguide, gain as the main feature of the device shows more stability while the optical signal is passing through the active region.
