Abstract :
The aim of this research is to apply experimental design methodology to the optimization of TiO2 film photocatalytic degradation of Dimethoate present in wastewater. UV/TiO2 photocatalysis for the oxidation of organic compounds pollutants in water is an environmental promising method. We used the progress of UV/H2O2, UV/TiO2/H2O2, UV/TiO2/Fenton and dark Fenton to degradation Dimethoate in the water, results shows that UV/TiO2/H2O2 has the highest removal of TOC in the solution, but UV/TiO2/Fenton system can significantly short the reaction time. The effect of initial pH, dose of Fe(II) and H2O2 concentration on the remove of TOC in the Dimethoate solution was determined. According to the results of the process, the optimum point to degradation of Dimethoate solution achieved is given by the following values: pH = 3.0, H2O2 concentration of 1.25 Dth (Demand theory), ratio of Fe(II)/H2O2 = 1:20 and reaction time 180 minutes.
