Abstract
A pulse design method is proposed as ultra-wideband (UWB) pulse shape by using the approximate prolate spheroidal wave functions (APSWF). The simulations show that the APSWF pulse meets the power spectral constraint of the FCC´s spectral mask. According to the coexistence and compatibility to be considered in UWB impulse radio communications, the pulse waveform can be adjusted by this method when the spectral mask changed
