            Abstract : 
In this paper, we proposed a new approach for optical aerial conflict alarm used in traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS). The Optical aerial conflict alarm system (OACAS) tracked the potential hazardous aerial objects and locked the real aerial conflict in video sequence by using motion analysis and morphological processing, then sent the conflict message to TCAS, TCAS alerted the pilot to the presence of the coming collision. The optical aerial conflict alarm system can be used as the supplement and backup to the radar collision avoidance system (RCAS). The experiment shows it effectiveness
