Abstract
Multiple access interference (MAI) and carrier frequency offsets cause limitations on bit error rate (BER) performance and capacity of asynchronous MC-CDMA systems. Multiuser detection schemes are required to overcome these limitations. In this paper, successive interference cancellation (SIC) is used in a MC-CDMA base station receiver. BER performance of this uplink MC-SIC-CDMA system is analyzed in a frequency selective Rayleigh fading taking into account the effect of carrier frequency offsets. Results show that high capacity and performance gains are achieved by SIC even in considerable frequency offsets.
