Abstract :
A spectral theory of natural single-phase unidirectional transducers that was developed for the case of B-G waves by the author (1990 IEEE Ultras. Symp. Proc., p.113-16) is completed for the general case of Rayleigh waves. The main results of the theory presented are a new description of piezoelectric halfspace that can have many applications in modeling SAW devices, and a final rigorous expression for the P-matrix of an interdigital transducer accounting for the mechanical properties of its electrodes and the general anisotropic property of the piezoelectric substrate. A corresponding relation for the NSPUDT (natural single-phase unidirectional transducer) is just a particular case of the theory
