Abstract
We study the sensitivity of downlink and uplink MC-CDMA systems to carrier phase jitter modeling. Assuming orthogonal spreading sequences, we present two probability law models for this jitter and compare the performance degradation of both transmission mode. Theoretical results are derived for gaussian and rayleigh jitter models proposed. Assuming an AWGN channel and full load, it is shown that performance of studied waveforms depends on jitter variance and on the law followed by the phase error. Simulation results indicate that downlink and uplink MC-CDMA have same sensitivity and perform better with rayleigh jitter model
