Abstract
RF power degradation introduced by optical polarization mismatch in dual-wavelength millimeter-wave fiber-radio systems is analyzed and presented. We show that, when effect of polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) can be ignored, both mismatch of polarization projects and polarization phase delays may influence the power of the generated millimeter-wave signal. When effect of polarization-mode dispersion is counted, the power degradation due to PMD can be aggravated or alleviated by polarization mismatch between the two optical wavelengths. All the above effects are numerically illustrated in the paper
