Abstract
Based on the previously proposed error probability function of multiuser detector, a new set of constraints is proposed. We show that under these new constraints uniqueness of global minimum can be guaranteed. An efficient barrier conjugate gradient algorithm is developed to solve this constrained optimization problem. Computer simulation results show that the performance of the proposed detector approaches to that of the optimal minimum bit-error rate linear detector and is significantly better than that of the MMSE detector.
