Abstract :
In the pulverizing system for an alumina sintering processes, the hot air temperature to dry the coal powder using the remaining heat for cooling clinker is low and varies frequently. This can easily causes either the coal powder over coarser or the decrease of the mill output. In this paper, an intelligent setting method for mill load is proposed and presented, which consists of an intelligent pre-setting model for mill load, a soft measurement model for particle size of coal powder based on LS-SVM (least square -support vector machine), and a forward compensation model using the fuzzy rules. The result of industry application shows such a control strategy can make the particle size of coal powder within the required range and can maximize the mill output.
