Abstract
Based on the predecessors´ algorithm of lattice decoder, we further generalized it to signal constellation of any shape, available to both real and complex situation. Such algorithm is nominated as ordered sphere detector (OSD), which has near maximum likelihood (ML) performance with less computation requirement. It can achieve outstanding performance, e.g. supporting high spectral efficiency of 32bits/s/Hz, achieving symbol error rate 10-3 at SNR 14.5dB. We thoroughly studied the error bound, average running time, error rate of OSD algorithm. Compared with other known methods to solve complex constellation, OSD is both faster and accurate.
