Abstract :
A novel methodology on the gear crack fault detection based on particle filter and Weighted Sum Squared Residual (WSSR) is proposed in this paper. The kurtosis index of the vibration signal from the acceleration sensors mounted on the gearbox along the vertical direction is calculated. The state space model is established. The particle filter is applied to estimate the state value of the system. The algorithm of the fault detection of the gearbox based on WSSR is developed to detect the levels of the gear crack. The results show the applicability and the effectiveness of the proposed method.
