Abstract :
Pulsed lasers have been used to generate elastic waves in Zr-Nb alloys, containing known amounts of hydrogen in the form of precipitated hydrides. Experiments performed as a function of temperature on both resonant tuning forks and thin disks are described. The results indicate that the technique can observe the terminal solid solubility of hydrogen in this alloy
