  • Abstract
    This paper reviews recent progress on long-range coherent OFDR employing a novel light source phase noise compensation technique. A unique development is cm-level spatial resolution over tens of kilometers while maintaining sensitivity compatible with Rayleigh backscattering, which is unsupported by any other type of reflectometry. Its principle and promising applications are discussed.
