Abstract :
In cognitive radio sensor networks, it is a critical work to localize the location of primary user (PU) for radio resource utilization. Most of received signal strength (RSS)-based PU localization schemes assume that path loss exponent (PLE) is a deterministic. This assumption however is impractical because PLE varies according to time and space in the network. With the motivation, in this paper we develop a RSS-based PU localization scheme with a simple PLE ranging algorithm. The simulation results show the proposed scheme has better performance than a conventional RSS-based PU localization scheme in terms of the rate and amount of interference to PU.
