Abstract
The techniques of optical trapping and manipulation of neutral particles by lasers, provide unique means to control the dynamics of small particles. These new experimental methods have played a revolutionary role in areas of the physical and biological sciences. This paper reviews the implementation of optical tweezers. At first the basic structure of the twin-core fiber optical tweezers is introduced which has an abrupt tapered shape. Several simulations have been carried out to completely investigate its performance and review the effects of different factors. These parameters include applied phase shift between input electric fields, wavelength and waist of laser beam and grating profile of fiber´s cores. All of the investigated parameters are some useful tools which can guide the designers for the best design.
