Abstract :
Many physical processes can be described by partial-differential equations which, in many discrete cases, singular 2D systems will result. This paper considers the optimal control problem for nonlinear singular 2D systems. For the special case, the LQR problem has been investigated. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of unique solution is stated. In this case, a Riccati-type equation is obtained. A numerical example is given to illustrate the technique
