Abstract :
The Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995 demonstrated that telecommunications systems are very important in rescue efforts and for information transfer. Since the power supply is a key device of telecommunications equipment, its performance must have a degree of seismic resistance. For the investigation of the seismic resistance of the power supply, a simulation was performed for the natural frequency and the response acceleration by means of the finite element method. A power supply was manufactured and subjected to a vibration test, and the experimental results were compared with the simulation results. The error was very small; less than 2.0%. Close agreement was also obtained between simulation and experimental results employing an actual earthquake waveform
