Abstract
China currently put the development of its western region as one of the most important goals. This greatly stimulated the initiative of hydropower development in its ecological sensitive Yunnan Province. Yet the use of a single tool, like strategy environment assessment (SEA), to achieve sustainable hydropower exploitations remains challenge. Through exploring relationship between the SEA application and standards in green hydropower certification frameworks, this paper demonstrate an integrated stewardship. We believe a successful SEA extension could be promoted by this integration.
