Abstract
A highly efficient three-phase AC to DC rectifier is proposed and analyzed for high voltage/high power applications such as telecommunications. Particularly, a low price special purpose one chip controller, the TMS320F240 from Texas Instruments, is utilized in this application due to its excellent applicability and performance for PWM controller schemes. This newly fabricated DSP has many powerful functions to construct stand-alone type one-chip digital controllers for easy implementation of the proposed soft-switched rectifier with a three-phase PWM control scheme without extra complex hardware. Due to several useful functions of DSP, the complex PWM pattern for the space vector modulated rectifier is implemented with little effort
