Abstract
Throughout the world, wind power is likely to play large role in the future of sustainable, clean energy, but wide-scale adoption keeps on bringing troubles due to the criticalities related to wind power penetration into the grid. Assessing and preserving the robustness of power systems integrated with wind power becomes a paramount issue. In this context, this paper proposes a more systematic methodological approach to assess the criticalities for wind power integration into pre-existing systems due to the sum of the uncertainties deriving from wind power forecasting, system state and loading conditions. The effectiveness of the method is tested and discussed using a well-known IEEE test benchmark system.
