Abstract
What would your analyst team do when torn between meeting customer versus developer demands? When their needs conflict with one another, how do you appease them both? The report outlines the successful strategy one team used to decompose their stories to serve both the development team needs to demonstrate progress as well as address customer needs to see value. Teams adopting agile for the first time in an enterprise environment will no doubt encounter these very same challenges. Faced with similar start-up challenges on future projects, with this decomposition strategy, teams will no longer have to make the trade-off between business value and story size; stories of happy customers, happy developers and successful projects can still be told.
