Abstract :
Turbo Spin Echo (TSE) method is widely used for an MR examination. However, the periodical motion artifacts such as a throb of the bloodstream, the cerebrospinal fluid and patient´s moving are much observed in TSE image than the conventional Spin Echo (conv.SE) image and the Gradient Echo (GrE) image. This originates in k-space trajectory peculiar to TSE method. Randomized Phase Encoding TSE is a kind of TSE sequence that improved k-space trajectory in order to reduce motion artifacts. We compared conventional phase encoding TSE (conv.TSE) with Randomized Phase Encoding TSE (RPE-TSE) and reviewed the utility of this technique. As for contrast and the value of the signal, we changed Echo Train Length (ETL) and compared Randomized Phase Encoding TSE images. Randomized Phase Encoding (RPE) TSE is useful for reducing motion artifacts with the periodicity such as a throb of a bloodstream, the cerebrospinal fluid and patient´s moving.
