  • Abstract
    This paper describes a new approach to quickly determine Q-V and P-V curves via network equivalence in the voltage stability calculation of large power systems at a study node. By this approach, a complex system is reduced to a radial network equivalent for fast voltage stability analysis. The simulation results of several study systems are presented which illustrated the effectiveness of this method. Initial results show that the method may be useful in fast online voltage security assessment
