Abstract
This paper details a modelling strategy for isolated power systems employing synchronous motor drives. The model detailed has two functions: to predict transient performance and waveform distortion. A transient simulation showing a system´s response to a change in motor speed demand is detailed and the extent of waveform distortion in isolated power systems is considered
