Abstract
In this paper, we point out some problems associated with existent geometric active contour models, and present a new geometric active contour model. This model can overcome some drawbacks in the previous geometric models. We implement the geometric active contour model using the level set method. The efficacy of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated with experiments on synthetic images and medical images
