Abstract :
The initial state can influence the accuracy of accident reconstruction results, so the influence of the initial state of the pedestrian in accident reconstruction needs to be studied deeply. The vehicle-pedestrian impact was modeled by PC-Crash code, and then the influence of the crossing speed and the crossing direction on the throw distance and the injury of the head were analyzed by using results from simulations. In order to know more information about the initial state of the pedestrian, a traffic survey experiment was conducted at a crossing without traffic lights in Changsha. The law of the crossing speed of the pedestrian was presented. Furthermore, the law of the crossing direction of the pedestrian was analyzed. It was found that the crossing direction of the pedestrian was influenced significantly by the trip purpose, so the crossing direction can be fixed on according to the trip purpose of the pedestrian in an accident reconstruction.
