Abstract :
A great number of mathematicians have paid their attention to the calculation of PI. They hope to find a method not only fast in speed but also high in accuracy. With the rapid development of computer technology today, computer numerical calculation, an important technology in scientific research, makes the comparisons among different complicated calculations possible. According to the calculation method, principle and levels of development of π value, seven categories can be classified. Mathematical software would be used to analyze and compare the results of calculation through numerical simulation calculation of PI. Through the comparison between speed and precision, it can be seen that carol method is unstable and short of precision; the improved Ramanujan formula is the highest in precision and the fastest in speed of calculation, while Leibnitz series is totally reverse.
